ALG is currently hiring an experienced CNC Machinist (Fitter and Turner) to join our renowned aviation client, an industry leader, with a well-established reputation based at Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne, Australia.

This is a causal contract, offering full-time hours and an hourly rate of $55 + super. Notably, the previous candidate chosen for this role was offered a permanent position, and the successful candidate in this case will also receive an extended employment offer, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Precision-checking tools and parts to meet stringent engineering requirements, ensuring they align perfectly with specifications and tolerances for dimension, shape, contour, location, and coordination.
  • Skilfully setting up and operating various machine tools essential for crafting tooling to accomplish a diverse set of work assignments and operations.
  • Analysing blueprints, drawings, and engineering data to meticulously determine the most effective methods and sequences for the operations at hand.
  • Demonstrating expertise in working within narrow margins to deliver top-notch results.
  • Conducting regular equipment checks and upholding equipment in impeccable condition.

The successful candidate possesses the following attributes:

  • A full qualification as a Machinist, Took Making or Fitter and Turner
  • Technical experience in fabrication/machining is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in handling CNC machines, fitting/turning, and toolmaking is pivotal.
  • A proven track record of machinery maintenance and oversight of repairs is essential.
  • An innate attention to detail, unwavering motivation, and a self-driven attitude, reflecting a strong sense of ownership in your work.
