LB&B Associates Inc. is seeking qualified part-time Contractor Instructor Pilot for the E-2 Weapon System training at Naval Station (NS) Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia.

Job Description - Aircrew Training Devices Instructor (Rated)

Responsible for the accomplishment of ground-based and/or aircrew training devices (ATD) training of aircraft crewmembers either individually or in combination with pilot instructors. The ACTDIR instructs and measures training progress of crew-member students who train in the established aircrew training curriculum/ATDs, provides inputs and courseware corrections and modifications to update training policies and procedures, and assists in projects and development work as assigned. This Rated Instructor conducts ATD and other ground training of crew members in their specialized aircraft operations, including diagnosis and remediation of student problems following course outline and programmed simulator exercises. This person performs administrative and collateral duties relative to training such as record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development and maintenance of training programs.

Principal Duties and Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct scheduled Instructor-led/supported training for Training Device and Systems Training (including briefs and debriefs) using traditional and modern tools such as interactive white boards, computers and video projector systems.
  • Evaluate student training/mission performance as required.
  • Evaluate and record trainer performance in accordance with (IAW) established criteria.
  • Maintain, assess, and recommend improvements to mission scenarios.
  • Review curriculum, assess and recommend improvements to the training program.
  • Provide classroom instruction and recommendations for improvement, to include tests and test materials, lesson plans, and trainee guides under the guidelines of current directives.
  • Conduct training device operation instruction to personnel as necessary, to include briefing, debriefing and grading/assessments.
  • Assist in training device testing/evaluation associated with the introduction of new weapon systems or Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) as they affect the training system.
  • Provide academic instruction to include Instructor led lecture discussion for Crew Resource Management (CRM), Instrument Ground School (IGS), etc., and self-paced Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Computer Based Training (CBT) in support of courses required for each platform.
  • Assist with training device inspections and certification programs and other special projects, as required, to include mishap re-creation and testing.
  • Assist with authorized and scheduled tours as required.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must obtain instructor certification in the platform(s) to which assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Government security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Contract Instructor Pilot (CIP)
  • Qualifications. A CIP must be or have been an E-2 Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified pilot or have been an E-2 simulator instructor (pilot) within the previous five (5) years. A CIP shall have a minimum of one (1) Fleet tour in the E-2, have (800) flying hours in the E-2 or the C-2 aircraft and have a Bachelor's degree

Candidate shall not have had any punitive actions on their record that resulted in termination of flight status.
