Summary
We are searching for a suitable candidate to fill our Scoot flight dispatcher / Junir flight dispatcher position. You will be a part of the Scoot IOCC - Flight Dispatch team and will be the 'flight dispatcher' managing flight planning for the entire scoot fleet . You will work closely with Flight operations, Engineering, Ground Operations to ensure smooth flight operations and management of daily flight planning.

The successful candidate will be part of Technical & Flight Services in Flight Operations Division. He/She will be part of a team that handles flight planning duties across the Scoot network in a fast paced 24/7 shift environment. Successful candidates will join as Trainee Flight Dispatcher and undergo a suitable training program. The duration of training will depend on the candidate's qualification and professional background. For new joiners without any relevant experience, this training will typically range from 12 to 15 months. The trainee must successfully complete the training program and competency assessments before being appointed as Flight Dispatcher.

Job Description

  • Prepare the Operational Flight Plans and Briefing packages for Scoot flights accurately in accordance with Company policies, considering aircraft performance, weather, Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) and other necessary operational requirements.
  • Planning and selecting suitable and optimum flight routes in respect of operational factors, including the avoidance of natural hazards such as tropical storms, volcanic activities, among others.
  • File the Air Traffic Services flight plans and ensuring that any changes to the flight plans are updated in accordance with ATC requirements.
  • Monitor operational messages and responding to flight planning related requests in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments, internal and external stakeholders regarding flight and fuel planning information.
  • Support and assist Pilots with flight planning queries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Be conversant with company fuel and operational policies, aircraft performance, aviation meteorology, route structure, flight planning requirements and apply such knowledge to achieve safe and optimal flight planning outcomes.
  • Any other duties as assigned, including (but not limited to) tactical monitoring of flight planning variables, NOTAMs, flight planning system or any other projects.

Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma holder, preferably with a technical or engineering background
  • Aviation-related qualifications or experience would be advantageous, but not necessary.
  • Analytical with good numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with operational and technical documentation and procedures
  • Comfortable with 24-hour rotating shift duties including weekends and public holidays

Aviation or airline-related qualifications or experience is preferred. Previous experience in flight planning, Operations control, is preferred.
