New ZealandCompany Description
We're Jetstar. You may know us for our famous low fares, but did you also know that we've flown more than 400 million customers since we launched in Australia in 2004? In fact, each week we operate around 3,000 flights to nearly 40 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific. And we're not just an Australian airline either - the Jetstar Group also includes Jetstar Asia and Jetstar Japan, and is one of the largest low-cost airline groups in Asia Pacific by revenue. As a group, we operate a fleet of more than 115 aircraft, including the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 787-8s. Every day we enable more people to takeoff to more places, more often.
Job Description
Jetstar New Zealand is currently looking for First Officers (A320/1) to join our team. Our network includes both domestic and international routes, providing you the chance to experience a wide range of destinations.
As we grow our fleet and introduce new routes, now is the perfect time to consider a career with Jetstar in New Zealand. Being part of our team is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the distinctive lifestyle offered by New Zealand.
We believe in fostering talent and offering our pilots the opportunity for fairly rapid career progression, based on meeting company requirements and operational needs. In recent times, we've witnessed First Officers advance to command positions within just a few years, which is a testament to the opportunities for rapid advancement within our organisation. With the right qualifications and performance, you could find yourself in the captain's seat sooner than you think.
To be eligible for consideration you must meet the following requirements:
Note: A current New Zealand ATPL or CPL with Multi-Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating must be converted via the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act prior to employment.
Lifestyle
We value the importance of work-life balance for our pilots, whether you're operating domestic or international flights. While our rosters may include 2 to 4 sector days, rest assured that you'll be back home most nights. Due to the nature of our network, there may be occasional overnights, but these are minimal, allowing you to make the most of your time at home.
Training
We understand the paramount importance of safety. Our Pilot Training Program is designed to uphold our esteemed safety record and setting our pilots for success. Our Evidence Based Training (EBT) program is designed to go beyond standard requirements, providing our pilots with realistic training scenarios and hands-on experiences to enhance their skills as a pilot to the highest level.
Sustainability
Our current NEO fleet has reduced total emissions by more than 16,000 tonnes over the last 12 months - the equivalent of taking 3500 cars off the road. The quieter and more fuel efficient NEOs are set to kickstart a new era of improved sustainability and growth for Jetstar.
Expanding routes
The introduction of the NEOs has allowed us to offer more low fares to new destinations and add capacity and frequency on our most popular routes. These longer range and highly fuel-efficient aircrafts have also freed up our Boeing 787 fleet to reach new destinations even further away.
Join Jetstar Airways and embark on a journey that combines the excitement of aviation with the comfort of a balanced lifestyle, all while growing in an environment that values your passion and growth!
