REPORTS TO: Aviation Department Supervisor, Dean of Academics, Vice President
RESPONSIBILITIES:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Hourly rate set by the Watertown School Board. The 2024-2025 hourly instructor rates:
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Single Engine Land Rating.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor Certificate with an Airplane Single Engine Land Rating.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Certificate.
- Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
- FAA Multiengine Instructor Certificate preferred.
- FAA A&P Certificate preferred
- Must have excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have basic computer knowledge as appropriate for training, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Instructional experience desired.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekend hours.
REPORTS TO: Aviation Department Supervisor, Dean of Academics, Vice President
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote safe day-to-day operations, including flight operations and airport security.
- Provide instruction in all relevant aviation courses as listed on program course outline.
- Schedule and update any assigned students to provide satisfactory progress through course materials and inform supervisor of any delays in training.
- Train students to be proficient and safe pilots; as well prepare them for FAA Check Rides.
- Schedule students for flight and ground lessons, briefing and debriefing as appropriate during those lessons.
- Assist the Chief Flight Instructor in managing airplanes including database updates, tracking aircraft total time, etc.
- Accurately maintain all appropriate records, including student training records and logbooks and tracking aircraft maintenance records.
- Attend company sponsored aviation events such as seminars, symposiums, open houses, air shows, and recruiting events as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Hourly rate set by the Watertown School Board. The 2024-2025 hourly instructor rates:
- $43.50 per hour Flight Instruction
- $24.40 per hour Ground Instruction
- $15.00 per hour Fleet Management
