Role Introduction

Reports to: Aircraft Programmes Manager (Development, Definition & Induction)

Engineering’s ambition is to be one of the world’s highest performing, customer centric and progressive engineering teams and the role of the Lead Fleet Programmes Engineer is to lead all programme management related activity for aircraft inductions, ensuring key milestones are achieved on schedule and other requirements such as specification, cost and weight are managed in line with the airlines expectations. They will also be expected to support the issuance of reports and physical inspection of the aircraft per the Cathay Pacific Organisation Designation Approval (ODA) 183 requirement for the issuance of a Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new/used aircraft induction programmes, from specification through to delivery and issuance of first Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA), physical inspections and document acceptance.
  • Lead transfer activities of aircraft from the fleet.
  • Lead all phases of induction up to Entry-Into-Service (EIS).
  • Lead the aircraft definition process ensuring the specification and options selected are managed through the internal goverance process and are compliant with airworthiness requirements.
  • Support new aircraft source selection analysis process.
  • Support Cathay Pacific Organization Designation Approval (ODA) 183 personnel to ensure that aircraft are compliant with Hong Kong regulations.
  • Support Cathay Pacific Organization Designation Approval (ODA) 183 administrative work including Procedure Manual update and housekeeping of associated records and files.

Requirements

  • Typically 8 years' experience in aircraft maintenance and/or engineering.
  • Degree in Engineering / Aerospace discipline.
  • Proven experience of leading, managing aircraft projects and working with cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability in stakeholder management and working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Maintenance Reapir Organizations (MROs).
  • Experience in HKAR-183 Design Organisation is preferred
  • Membership of The Instuitation of Hong Kong Engineers (HKIE) is preferred
  • Experience in leading LEAN projects
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong in communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Drive for excellence.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change with demonstrated ability to drive process improvements across the department.
