As the Lead Technical Services Engineer – Airbus, you will ensure the Cathay Pacific and Air Hong Kong fleets operate safely, compliantly, reliably, and defect-free, while driving on-time performance. Your leadership will balance cost-effective solutions with stakeholder collaboration to maintain excellence across airframe and avionic systems.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Services section is responsible for Engineering activities related to the airworthiness, safety, reliability, operational disruption and commercial cost effectiveness of all aircraft types operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and its customer airlines.
Responsible for:
- Review and manage FAA/EASA/CAD Airworthiness Directives, ensuring compliance through appropriate technical or procedural actions
- Monitor fleet operational reliability, investigate occurrences, and implement delay mitigation and corrective actions to meet reliability targets and reduce recurrences
- Deputize for the Technical Services Manager, support in fulfilling departmental responsibilities, and coordinate team workload with an emphasis on maintaining high work quality and standards
- Provide specialist technical support, drive continuous process and procedural improvements, and manage technical relationships, particularly with Airbus, to align with engineering objectives
- Stay updated with industry best practices and developments, integrating relevant innovations into operations
- Mentor and develop new team members to ensure competence in their roles as structures/development engineers
Using Reliability Centred Maintenance Philosophy to:
- ensuring an efficient effective maintenance programme to be safe, compliant and consistently achieve optimal levels of aircraft availability at the lowest cost
- manage operational key drivers and KPI’s
- review and develop the aircraft maintenance program
- review OEM documentation and industry best practices
Requirements
- Typically 8 years' experience in Engineering role
- Degree in Engineering or aerospace discipline or an equivalent professional qualification
- Strong aviation engineering knowledge and experience, preferably in Airbus aircraft systems role
- Strong supplier management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact and influence across Engineering sections, OEM’s, other operators, industry experts and regulators
