
Senior Inventory Controller - Warranty
Role Introduction
Reports to: Business Improvement and Supply Chain Manager
Departments: ENG - Engineering
This role is part of our Engineering Department who are focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customer’s safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation. we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.
You will be responsible for maximising warranty and insurance recovery under the terms and conditions of existing contracts as well as for ad-hoc incidents. You will involve cross-sectional and cross-departmental collaboration and project management to raise awareness within the company with an aim to maximise warranty recovery. You will also provide support of business improvement initiatives to improve cost effectiveness of Inventory Management in Engineering using LEAN methodologies and principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business improvement initiatives in Inventory Management using LEAN methodologies and principles to maximise warranty recovery
- Support proactive review of operational data to identify potential warranty events and initiate claim process.
- Support standard warranty, lump-sum, heavy maintenance checks, structural claims, and SB/SL claims.
- Submit PSAA/SSC warranty related claims such as Labour, SPT, Spares Delay, Freight, Reliability, DMC
- Update warranty terms and conditions in the airlines’ IT system due to receipt of new assets and new vendor contracts.
- Provide inputs to company insurance team for insurance claims as relevant.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Aircraft Trading Department (APD) on warranty terms and conditions to be included or updated in supplier contracts.
- Represent Engineering Department to drive changes within OEM, MRO and other service providers to improve warranty coverage for Cathay.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering / Aerospace or Logistics and Supply Chan discipline (or suitable equivalent)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience working with airlines, MROs, OEMs or suppliers
- Extensive exposure to inventory management, procurement or maintenance planning
- Good commercial acumen, analytical skills and process-oriented
- Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Adaptable to change. Proven ability to identify and drive process improvements
- Experience of using LEAN techniques to drive business improvement initiatives
