Senior Planning Engineer - Scheduling and Heavy Maintenance Operations
Role Introduction
Reports to: Scheduling and Heavy Maintenance Operations Manager

This role is part of our Engineering Department who are focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customer’s safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation. we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.
In this role, you will responsible for delivering optimised maintenance programmes that are planned and executing with precision, while driving for continuous business improvement to ensure safe, complaint, reliable and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for:
- Delivering safe, compliant and reliable aircraft from heavy maintenance facilities in HK on time and in the most cost effective way.
- Ensuring that the heavy maintenance check management process, including check preparation, control and progress monitoring methodology is well establish and executed well to achieve the desired business outcome on OTP.
- Representing the airline/department in negotiations with MROs, OEMs and other external agencies while the aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance.
- Driving continuous improvements, efficiencies and productivities in particular on any significant findings and observations with mitigation or recommendation for solutions to improve OTP, maximize aircraft availability and minimize total cost.
- Ensure quality and stability of work packages for both light and heavy checks to enable sufficient time for preparation and mitigation of risk of check delays and disruption of plans are in place.
- Managing aircraft maintenance labour cost including routine man-hour charge setting and non-routine cost scrutiny in the most cost effective way.
Requirements
List requirements for the position:
- Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence is preferred.
- Good understanding to Maintenance philosophy
- Typically a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in aspects of aircraft or maintenance planning.
- Experience of leading and delivering business process improvement.
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Good knowledge of Cathay Pacific maintenance and engineering systems preferable
