Technical Support Engineer (Maintenance Watch)

ALG is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified Technical Support Engineer (Maintenance Watch) to join our client at Brisbane Airport. This permanent position provides valuable exposure to the aviation industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate remedial actions for AOG aircraft to ensure on-time performance.
  • Support maintenance work packages, aircraft defects, and engineering technical requests.
  • Oversee deferred defects and coordinate resources and technical input for timely resolution.

Duties include:

  • Promoting high dispatch reliability and on-time performance by efficiently coordinating AOG rectifications.
  • Supporting and overseeing scheduled work packages and defects.
  • Reviewing line scheduled maintenance and deferred defects before their due dates.
  • Reviewing maintenance records promptly upon receipt.
  • Supporting technical requests from the CAMO database.
  • Ensuring the timely recovery of unserviceable aircraft to minimize schedule disruptions.
  • Formulating action plans with operations to minimize schedule disruptions when aircraft recovery impacts the schedule.
  • Advising stakeholders of operational limitations due to maintenance conditions.
  • Reporting anomalies and issues to the Technical Support Manager and Continuing Airworthiness Manager.
  • Communicating with Line Maintenance Managers, Senior Base Engineers, Duty Engineers, and Supervisors to ensure effective troubleshooting.
  • Liaising with Fleet Captains and crews to address queries and problems.
  • Coordinating with the Continuing Airworthiness Manager, relevant departments, and subcontractors for concessions, unserviceability, maintenance variations, permits to fly, and design approvals.
  • Liaising with Quality Assurance regarding temporary maintenance approvals, if needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • 10 years of aviation experience in a similar environment.
  • Extensive leadership experience.
  • Willingness to respond to after-hours questions and requests.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible, methodical, and well-organized work practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to respond to sudden changes in work requirements.
  • Ability to liaise and work with various levels of personnel.
