This position requires a skilled and motivated UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) Mechanical/Electronic Production Technician to join our dynamic team. As a member of our UAV manufacturing team, you will play a crucial role in the production and maintenance of UAV systems.

Tasks

A UAV mechanical or electronic manufacturing technician plays a critical role in the production, maintenance, and quality assurance of UAV systems, contributing to their reliability, performance, and safety.

  • Fabricate various components of UAVs using materials such as sheet metals, fittings, composites, electronic components, and plastics. This may involve, drilling, sealing, welding, wiring, and connecting materials and components according to specifications.
  • Assemble, integrate, and install UAV components and systems according to working instructions and engineering drawings. This includes integrating mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems into the UAV airframe.
  • Perform autonomous quality checks following quality instructions at various stages of production to ensure that components and subsystems meet specifications. Identify and rectify any defects or discrepancies in manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct tests and calibration procedures on UAV systems to verify performance and functionality. This may involve testing mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and assemblies.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic/systems issues with UAV systems. Conduct repairs (properly defined) or replacements of faulty components or assemblies as necessary to ensure proper functioning.
  • Register and maintain accurate records of manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, quality inspections and repairs. Document any modifications or repairs made to UAV systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in manufacturing processes. Collaborate with team leads, engineers and other team members to implement enhancements and optimizations.
  • Adhere to industry regulations and safety standards and follow safety protocols during the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Professional training in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Metalwork technology, Mechatronics, or related fields. Some positions may only require a high school diploma or equivalent if accompanied by a proven relevant experience or certification.
  • Proven experience (2-5 years) in manufacturing operations, preferably in the aerospace or unmanned systems industry and/or aircraft maintenance (LMA A or B), repair and overhaul with an understanding of quality control systems.
  • Familiar with UAV platforms, components, and subsystems and understand the principles of flight control systems, avionics, navigation systems, communication systems, and payload integration.
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards, environment regulations, regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations associated with aerial military vehicles.
  • English will be your working language. Dutch will be highly valued.
