Accountabilities The Jobholder is responsible for the oversight, delivery and performance of the Structure &amp; Cabin System activities provided across all the contracts under Airbus Flight Hour Services scope (FHS) managed by the Central Plateau. Main activities The Structure/Cabin Systems engineer with his/her peers, as a team, shall endorse the key following activities: Structure &amp; Cabin Systems Engineering work scope: • Ensure engineering technical follow-up and defect/delay analysis in collaboration with Toulouse (FHS Headquarter) and local teams. • Develop close relationship with the customer facing teams, align and collaborate on processes and deliverables expected • Produce and share engineering analysis, action plan and technical follow-up within a regular time frame agreed with the local team • Ensure appropriate support for technical issues resolution within mid and long term timeframe and ad hoc short term support for critical event management • Develop close relationship with FHS HQ and their stakeholders in order to escalate critical issues to be further investigated with Customer Support and Airbus Programs • Contribute to the functional organization objectives and be motor in ensuring knowledge, process and methods are capitalized • Ensure regular reporting on his/her different scopes of activity, for achievement, performance and improvement demonstration, • Ensure Technical support, if required, with Local Aviation Authorities, EASA and FAA, to meet local regulations and expectation • Contribute to the development and implementation of industrialized processes, methods and tools to improve efficiency and qualitatively the activities performed • Provide engineering assistance to the regional on-site engineering team on Structures/Cabin Systems related damage/defect issues when required. • Coordinate with TC Holder to obtain repair solutions for damages out of designated ICA viz. SRM,AMM &amp; CMM &amp; ensure repair solution classification as major or minor with associated follow up actions • Provide Technical Support to maintenance in performing Structural Assessment, Repair &amp; Modifications as well as desired clarifications during Inspection findings &amp; alternate repair material / fastener requests. • Provide Technical Support to manage definition of structural events in designated FHS Digital platform (If applicable) &amp; manage associated CAT B &amp; CAT C repair/inspection requirements • Maintain Structural Damage Database in designated FHS Digital platform (If applicable) with a view to ensure efficient retrieval for reference or End Of Lease handover • Analyse impact of Cabin Modifications on Layout &amp; Configuration as well as provide technical support in producing LOPA/EED post such modifications • Manage the Weight and Balance (W&amp;B) changes on the Aircraft in-service by monitoring the mass and Center of Gravity (CG) of each Aircraft (A/C) introduced by modifications • Provide Support towards Weight and Balance Schedule (WBS) preparation • Provide technical support towards managing Landing Gear configuration including life limited parts , repair &amp; overhaul of Landing Gears &amp; its subcomponents Reliability: • Master the reliability process and tools and leverage on the reliability team triggers to identify arising low performance topics and properly address the recovery plan with FHS HQ. • Manage reliability technical dossier and contact relevant stakeholders as necessary for technical alignment. • Analyze reasons for removal on identified components (in volume, vs Guaranteed Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal (GMTBUR), vs worldwide fleet Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal (MTBUR), No Fault Found (NFF) rate) • Perform technical investigation (using data from aircraft maintenance logs, Maintenance Information System (MIS), aircraft service records and shop finding reports) to determine possible root cause and failure trends as necessary with objective to define/implement available mitigation/solution or drive definition of technical fix • Investigate Reliability Issues on Structures ATA, Cabin Systems &amp; Cabin Systems LRU's and coordinate the investigation with FHS Engineering, Airbus Support &amp; OEM. Perform regular reliability updates. Technical publications: • Manage and control AD and any mandatory documents to ensure compliance with Regulation, Airworthiness and Quality standards • Master the technical publication process and the documentations such as VSB, SB, SIL, TFU, AOT and OIT issued at aircraft/component level and provide recommendation • Support mods meetings and FHS SB Scan process preparation • Liaise with the customer facing team to assist driving the relevant embodiment strategy which would maximize customer and FHS benefit E. Preferably, the contract starts ASAP. Although, the start dates are flexible based. The contractor must live within commuting distance of Montreal. Pilots B737 aircraft to transport passengers and cargo. Acts as Second in Command of aircraft and takes over should Pilot in Command become incapacitated. When not flying, monitors all aspects of flight to ensure safety and all aircraft systems for normal operations. Communicates with Air Traffic Control using standard aviation terminology. Reviews maintenance logs, weather reports/forecasts, and Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs). Has a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airman Information Manual (AIM), company Flight Operations Manual (FOM), aircraft manufacturer Flight Crew Operations Manual (FCOM), Flight Crew Training Manual (FCTM), and Quick Reference Handbook (QRH). Computes Performance Data as well as Weight &amp; Balance of the aircraft. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: The work is performed primarily in the cockpit of a B737 aircraft, which is a small, cramped space subject to high noise levels, extreme temperatures, and low humidity. The First Officer may be subject to physical and mental stress caused by in-flight emergencies, flying in inclement weather, exposure to high levels of noise, or other environmental discomforts. Work is primarily sedentary, with some walking, bending, stretching, climbing, and manipulating controls from a sitting position. Manipulating controls requires a minimum of 40 pounds arm/shoulder strength to twist a steering-wheel left and right, 100 pounds of arm/shoulder strength to push/pull a yoke from mid-arm to full extend and from mid arm to stomach contact, and 130 pounds of leg strength to push rudder pedals with legs from mid-extend to full extend. Lifting, extending and setting up to 30 pounds in a variety of arm/shoulder contortions is required. Corrected vision to 20/20 at near, mid, and far ranges, as well as full color recognition, is required. The ability to hear, correctly interpret, and speak a response to conversation, all in English, with office level background noise, is required. A First Officer must be able to compartmentalize the stresses of their personal life so that they do not distract from the work. Even routine flight operations require a high degree of focus and concentration; the ability to recall and apply a vast amount of diverse knowledge; the ability to perform, in head without assistance, math calculations up to and including multiplication/division quickly and accurately in real time while traveling hundreds of miles per hour; the ability to remember and initiate checklists at consistent points in flight; the ability to maintain situational awareness of the aircraft's position, attitude and configuration while being bombarded by a variety of sensory clues; and the ability to evaluate alternative courses of action and pick the best one for the given situation. While typically routine, the work can be punctuated by short periods of extremely high stress due to a myriad of conditions including but not limited to mechanical failure, bad weather, low fuel state, loss of pressurization, in-flight fire, temporary loss of or marginal control, impending ground or aircraft collision, etc. During such periods, the First Officer must be able to evaluate alternatives, prioritize corrective tasks, and take appropriate actions while not succumbing to mental paralysis by fear or sensory overload in a literal "do or die" situation. Minimum Requirements: <ul><li>Must have a US DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate (with EKG if more than 39 years old).</li><li>Must have a US DOT/FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate (ATP) or meet the requirements to complete an ATP Certification Training Program (CTP) in conjunction with a B737 Type course.</li><li>Must have 3,000 total hours as a pilot of crew and/or general aviation (GA) aircraft, or (discounted at 2:1 by) 1,500 total hours as a pilot of high-performance, single-pilot, military aircraft.
