Airport Operations and Contract Manager - This role is based in Amsterdam.
Job Purpose
Reporting to nominated Regional Airport Ops and Contract Manager, the Airport Ops and Contract Manager (AOCM) will be responsible for delivering a safe, on time operation through effective contract management of third-party suppliers in a cost-conscious manner. The role will also be responsible for trials and implementation of new policies and procedures in conjunction with the central Ground Ops team.
What you'll be doing:
We are seeking an experienced airport operations manager to oversee safety performance, risk management, and ground handling contracts at the airport level for easyJet. This role involves investigating safety events and leading preventative action plans, as well as ensuring budget accountability through strict cost control and effective supplier relationship management. You will be responsible for delivering on-time performance (OTP) against established targets, managing all revenue activities within your scope, and representing easyJet at various forums. As the principal point of contact for easyJet Ground Operations at designated airports, you will oversee KPIs, projects, communications, and improvement plans both internally and externally. Additional responsibilities include adhering to the liquidated damages process, preparing for seasonal readiness, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and participating in terminal and airport projects to maintain top positions. You will also represent easyJet at AOC and other airport and regulatory meetings (CAA, DGAC, FOCA, ACG) and provide strategic input for the Ground Operations 5-year plan at the airport.
Requirements of the Role
What you'll need to do the role:
To excel in this role, you will need excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on Safety, continuous improvement and cost reduction. Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities are essential, as you will influence both internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience in effective third-party management is critical, along with a track record of driving suppliers to achieve performance and cost savings. You should possess in-depth knowledge of SGHA and IATA contracts, along with strong contract management skills. Proficiency in core Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required. Additionally, you must demonstrate tenacity and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with proven experience managing budgets and the ability to challenge costs. While not essential, experience in operations management within an airline, passenger transport, or logistics environment is desirable, as is the ability to work autonomously toward targets with minimal direction. It is essential that you are fluent in Dutch.
