Serving airports and other aviation clients for more than 70 years across all seven continents, our aviation consulting practice includes both planning and development services that span activation planning, airfield and airspace, business and finance, commercial development, environmental, ground transportation, master planning and strategy, terminal planning and design.
We currently have an opportunity for a highly talented Airport Planner to join our successful team. The role will suit an ambitious and enthusiastic individual who is looking to progress their career within an exciting and successful consultancy environment. The candidate will have a solid understanding of airport facilities and operations and the airport industry in general. As a key member of our aviation team, you will be leading multiple assignments such as; general airport on-call task orders, that will include airfield, terminal and airport support projects, , project definition documents, airport and terminal/landside master plans, program implementation planning and advisory services, and business plans at commercial service airports throughout the U.S. You will be responsible to undertake a variety of aviation-related planning studies and assessments.
These may include:
• Scoping and undertaking studies on airfield layout, apron configuration and passenger terminal planning and surface access planning.
• Data analysis, demand and capacity assessment and interpretation.
• Benchmarking to support analysis, modelling and simulation.
• Technical report writing, preparing and delivering presentations.
• Assisting clients in setting out formal requirements.
• Leadership of design meetings, and all other project related meetings.
• Providing guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture / Planning, Urban Planning, or Education related Aviation field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in airport planning, with exposure to airfield planning, terminal planning, landside planning, facilities planning and all industry standards.
- Sound knowledge of the key drivers of Airport Planning and Development, including the interactions between airport operations, landside operations, terminal facilities, and specific knowledge as applicable to the movement of passengers within airports.
- Previous experience preparing and managing commercial terminal planning projects/programs at small, medium and large hub airports are preferred, with a range of project stakeholders, contractors and clients.
- Be familiar with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Microsoft Office skills are necessary.
- The ability to prioritize tasks with good time management skills and strong project management skills.
- A high sense of accountability with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be quality oriented and have a desire to deliver high quality work on time and on budget.
- Successful track records in business development and in bids/tenders (scope writing and proposal writing).
Sound Knowledge and appreciation of:
- Airport planning and its interface with airport operations and development.
- International codes and standards applicable to aviation.
- Commercial models of airports.
- US Regulatory changes and impacts to US airports.
- The importance of a customer's experience in airports today.
Although not essential the following would be an advantage:
- Experience of Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu.
- Excellent numerical skills including experience of using complex spreadsheets and databases.
- Experience in Airport Modelling and Simulation tools.
- Experience in airfield and/or terminal operations.
Travel Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year to airport clients and L&B's offices.
