ABOUT US

Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivvik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will board on an exciting journey to develop your skills and knowledge in the aviation industry. This role is designed for enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will play a crucial role in supporting our aircraft maintenance team, ensuring our fleet remains at the pinnacle of safety and performance. Under supervision of the Senior Base Engineer or Base Engineer you will carry-out repairs and line maintenance on Air Inuit's fleet.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out aircraft and base tasks, as they are assigned by an authorized signatory.
  • Maintain AMO facilities as directed.
  • Assist in routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of aircraft systems and components.
  • Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Work alongside seasoned engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in aviation technology and practices.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks in line with the Department's operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer college diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Air Inuit Maintenance and policies is an asset.
  • General knowledge of Air Inuit's Fleet.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Airport Security Clearance (RAIC) including an airside driver's permit.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn, team player, and a passion for aviation.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work location - Air Inuit Technical Center - Montreal-Trudeau airport.
  • Modified Work Schedule: 5-5-4
  • Alternating shift schedule: 06h00 - 17h15 / 17h00 - 04h15
  • Company-provided uniforms.
  • This position may entail occasional travel northern travel, experience the beauty and adventure of Northern Quebec.

COMPENSATION
  • Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy;
  • Hourly wage starting at $23.46
