Primary Objective of the Position:
Support of the Chief Pilot & Director, Flight Operations and direct supervision and coordination with the pilot group.
Essential Position Functions:
- Providing assistance to the Chief Pilot for direct supervision of all pilots regarding personnel management;
- Assisting with pilot hiring;
- Assisting with the employment status of flight crew, including attendance, disability, and all forms of leaves;
- Assisting with communication to all flight crew;
- Assisting with the promotion and maintenance of the flight operations culture;
- Responsible for delay reporting follow-up and mitigation;
- Attending daily operations meetings and follow-up on flight operations issues;
- In the absence of the Chief Pilot, the day-to-day management of pilot personnel issues;
- Assessing the operational suitability and requirements of aerodromes and routes served by Cargojet;
- Developing standard operating procedures for Cargojet aircraft;
- Fulfilling all SMS Duties and Responsibilities as indicated in Section 2.2.5 and in the Cargojet SMS Program Manual.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (aeroplanes), a valid Group I Instrument Rating, and a type rating for at least one of the types operated by Cargojet; and
- Have at least 500 hours commercial operations experience as Pilot-In-Command on aircraft more than 100,000 lbs MTOW in international service.
- Be qualified for line flying as PIC on an aircraft type operated by Cargojet.
