Description

Reporting to the Duty Manager, Flight Crew Scheduling, the Assistant Scheduler is responsible for aiding Crew Schedulers with crew system imports, monitoring pre-assignment opportunities, hotel & ground transportation, and deadhead bookings. 

Job Functions 

  • Create or repair pairings
  • Monitor Pre-Assignment opportunities and monthly requirements
  • Assist with requesting modifications and/or new hotel & ground transportation bookings
  • Assist with cancellations, requests for modifications and/or new deadhead bookings 
  • Assist with importing flight cancellations, equipment substitutions, new operating sections, and/or schedule revisions
  • Assist with crew follow ups on operational and planning changes
  • Assist with responding to queries from pilots
  • Maintain data entries in the Crew Scheduling applications
  • Assist Crew Schedulers with ad hoc DOF requirements as necessary

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Post-secondary education
  • Training on Safety Information Management Systems
  • Training on Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Training on the Pilot Collective Agreement 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. 
    • Bilingualism in both English and French is an asset
  • Good proficiency with Microsoft applications.  
    • (Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)

Experience/Business Knowledge:

  • Solid commitment to the position
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Data entry experience an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Must have excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Must have proven ability to manage multiple time sensitive priorities within short deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to keep and monitor records effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills; able to apply creative solutions that have a positive impact on results
  • Familiarity with Collective Agreements, Company Policies and/or Government Regulations (CARs) is an asset
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and achievement of objectives 
  • Ambition to maintain positive and productive relationships both within and outside the working group
  • Previous scheduling experience a definite asset
  • Familiarity with NETLINE CREW FOPS is an asset
  • Previous airline operational experience, an asset
