This role is responsible for coordinating Cargo Operations in India by managing all aspects of operational service delivery and safety for Air Canada’s cargo product in India. The role includes liaising with Air Canada Cargo Operations, Headquarters and external third parties. The role is additionally responsible for ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements for Air Canada Customers, both on Inbound and Outbound Cargo. This position will be based either in Delhi or Mumbai.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the cargo operations through the Ground Handling Agent at Delhi & Mumbai airport.
- Plan, organize and monitor the cargo operations (import and export), ensuring most efficient use of all resources.
- Ensure Safety and Quality standards are observed, monitored, and consistently practiced throughout the operation.
- Responsibility for development, implementation, monitoring and coordination of safety, accident and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate and provide corrective action plan for any related safety incidents.
- Ensuring day to day compliance with Customs and Airport Authority regulations.
- Monitor results and take corrective action as required to ensure agreed goals/objectives are met.
- Recommend any changes of processes or procedures to support or enhance Cargo business.
- Ensure that Company Policy/Procedures are adhered to and communicated to GHA staff effectively.
Qualifications
- A very strong knowledge of Cargo processes and procedures.
- Demonstrable leadership skills including strong ability to develop and maintain a productive work environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and be able to work autonomously.
- Strong ability to deal efficiently with challenges and to adapt to a permanently changing environment, to make decisions and accept responsibility for same.
- Strong negotiating and communication skills (written and oral).
- Be able to work autonomously.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Weblynx, ABS, ETS and Smartload is an asset.
- Profund knowledge of English is a prerequisite.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must have the right to work in India unrestricted.
- Must be able to obtain DEL and BOM Airport restricted access identification card (clean background check, security training for sensitive areas, etc.)
