/ Position: Chief Engineer
/ Location: Kuwait
/ Working Hours: 6-6 Shift Rotation

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chief Engineer to join our team and support our operations based in Kuwait on a 6-6 shift rotation. The Chief Engineer is responsible for providing the oversight, supervision, leadership and delivery of all functions within the Kuwait Maintenance Organisation in accordance with EASA Part 145 regulations. This is a fixed-term contract position until May 2025.

/ Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance to EASA regulatory requirements
  • Actively support the quality system and drive continuous improvement programs
  • To ensure adequate numbers of suitably experienced, trained and competent staff are available to meet the planned activities of the maintenance organisation
  • Responsible to ensure suitable process and procedure is in place, in use and effective at all times
  • To establish a training program inclusive of all regulatory mandated training, internal training and competence assessment, enabling all maintenance staff to remain current in these requirements
  • Ensure that Safety Risk Management and the SMS is used to provide a thorough foundation for working practices inclusive of human factors and human performance limitations
  • Maintain adequate facilities and tools appropriate for the planned activities inclusive of hangar, office, workshops and stores environments
  • Responsible to ensure adequate production planning of all maintenance activities
  • Responsible for the GSE and calibrated tooling control, servicing and training requirements
  • Leading a safety culture within the maintenance team to ensure safe and compliant operations and working practices
  • Responsible for the accurate retention of all maintenance records for he organisation and third-party maintenance activities
  • Responsible for periodic reporting of maintenance department performance, including KPIs as required by the organisation
  • Support the creation of contracts, bids and quotes for existing and new customers as required by the Commercial Team
  • Acting as SME for all technical matters as required by the contract
  • Maintain Safety, OH & S, Compliance, Security and environmental standards as required by the Management System
  • Undertake actions as required in support of the Company Safety Management System and Compliance Monitoring Programmes

/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

Essential
  • Extensive experience in aviation maintenance as a manager leading large groups or teams
  • Have held or currently hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License
  • Be able to hold a Form 4 position with the regulatory body
  • Experience in business improvement and project management activities
  • Strong understanding of EASA Part 145 aircraft maintenance regulatory framework and interpretation
  • Possess strong IT skills and experience of working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience in prioritising workload
  • Ability to negotiate in difficult circumstances and deliver positive results and outcomes
  • Human Factors training
  • Safety Management Systems
  • EWIS
  • Fuel Tank Safety

Advantageous
  • Hold higher level management qualification or similar in a relevant field
  • Experience in HEMS, SAR or Oil and Gas helicopter operating environments
  • Have experience in MD and/or Leonardo helicopters
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confident, approachable and enthusiastic
  • Accurate, numerate and excellent attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to work with a degree of autonomy
  • Flexibility to travel when required
