On board, you will represent KLM. You ensure that our customers have a great experience on every flight, while safety always comes first.The customer experience is largely influenced by the performance of you and the team, cockpit, and cabin. Together with your colleagues, you ensure a safe working environment, where everyone feels seen and accepted.

You reflect on your own behavior and keep developing yourself continuously. This way, you lay a solid foundation for a successful flight every time.

KLM is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications.

General:

  • Minimum higher general secondary education or equivalent foreign education with English, mathematics and physics,
  • Valid passport from an EU member state,
  • Swimming skills,
  • Height between 1.58 and 2.03 metres. No leg length measurement will take place.

Certificates:

  • EASA (Frozen) ATPL(A),
  • Valid Type Rating of a Multi-Pilot Aircraft,
  • PBN endorsement,
  • ME IR (A),
  • Final pages of your logbook (showing 150 hours of recent flying experience in commercial aviation and 500 hours on a multi-engine aircraft with a MTOW > 5,700KG),
  • I-CRM,
  • Completed Multi Crew Cooperation Course,
  • Class I medical,
  • LPE6 English level,
  • Advanced UPRT (Upset Prevention & Recovery Training).

Dutch language

  • Knowledge of the Dutch language is an advantage,
  • If you do not speak Dutch, we do expect you to put effort into learning the Dutch language, (ideally) reaching A2 level within one year,
  • In case of a possible promotion to a Captaincy position a minimum level of B1 Dutch is required.

Please note:

  • All documentation should be uploaded in PDF format with your application. All documentation should be supplied completely prior to eventual selection.
  • Type rating and Medical should be valid for at least 3 months at the time of entering employment.
  • Both Medical and Flight Crew Licences must have been issued in the Netherlands or must be converted for eventual employment.
  • The cost of converting a Medical and foreign Flight Crew License is at your own expense.

Experience:

  • At least 500 hours of experience on a multi-engine aircraft (5,700 kg or more),
  • At least 150 hours of this was flown in commercial aviation in the 12 months prior to this application.
