  • Captain and Line Training Captain roles
  • Exciting growth opportunity!
  • Adelaide, Darwin, Melbourne and Perth-based positions

About the business:

Having operated very successfully in the Middle East for over 10 years, Texel Air has now expanded its operations into NZ and Australia. Our NZ operation is well established and boasts an impressive On Time Performance rate whilst our Australian operations have just begun with the first aircraft now operating out of our Brisbane base.

By mid-2024 another three B737 NG Boeing Converted Freighters will enter our fleet - and there's more growth to come after that!

About the role:

Along with excellent, well-maintained aircraft, we also need excellent people, to keep them flying safely. We need pilots who thrive in a dynamic environment, who approach challenges with innovative solutions, who understand the importance to our clients of schedule integrity and who can deliver service that consistently exceeds expectations.

The Captain and Line Training Captain roles are senior positions, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the flight.

About you:

As an experienced Captain, you will need to:
  1. Have a current ATPL issued by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority or the Civil Aviation Authority of Australia, subject to you obtaining a New Zealand ATPL.
  2. Have a Type Rating on the B737 NG, preferably with recent (within at least the last 5 years) experience with the following flight hours:
  • 6000 hrs Total Time
  • 3000 hrs on MPA
  • 1000 hrs PIC on B737 NG type, or
  • 2000 hrs PIC on types > 50 t MTOW

3. Currently reside or be prepared to reside in either Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide or Darwin.

In addition to the above, we're also looking for Line Training Captains who:
  • Hold a current NZ 'D' category or a CASA Grade 1, 2 or 3 instructor rating.
  • Have completed a training course in the methods for assessing crew member competency in the technical and non-technical aspects of aircraft operation, including human factors and crew resource management.

These roles will take full advantage of your great communication skills and ability to build great relationships at all levels. While needing a high level of drive and initiative you will also have that balance of technical skills combined with a pragmatic hands-on approach. In return, you'll be joining a supportive family-focused organisation with a competitive salary package.

If you are a seasoned pilot with a passion for cargo operations, or maybe just looking for a change, we'd love to hear from you.
