The GE Aerospace Engineering Team is looking for experienced design engineers who are ready to work on the fastest growing engine in Aviation history, LEAP. The LEAP engine is a culmination of cutting-edge technology, world-class reliability and unparalleled performance, and is the engine of choice to power the Airbus A320neo, the Boeing 737 MAX, and the COMAC C919.
LEAP's 15% reduction in fuel burn (over prior generation of narrowbody applications) is moving the needle on sustainability today and proving out the next generation of sustainable technologies like ceramic composites, advanced turbine cooling, and additive manufacturing.
Our LEAP engine incorporates some of GE's latest technological innovations which are challenging our engineers to test the limits of what is possible and define non-traditional design solutions that keep GE Aerospace at the forefront of innovation.
The Lead Thermal Design Engineer will be part of the LEAP Engineering Design Team in Cincinnati, OH. They will refine technical expertise and leadership skills by working turbomachinery design and product improvement activities that ultimately power our customers, lift people up and bring them home safely.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to design and support engine components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and LEAP product / program requirements.
- Develop in-depth knowledge in turbomachinery while using prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute in consistency with engineering policies and procedures
- Use interpersonal skills to collaborate with peers and provide direction and mentoring to new team members
- Document and communicate results of technical data generated
- Prepare and present technical data to support internal and external customers; participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Share engineering information, promote open dialogue, and provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering design position

- Demonstrated experience in component design
- Positive, motivated, quick learner who has a passion for the aerospace industry, our customers, and our products
- Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to lead initiative of moderate scope and impact
- Established project management skills and ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
