United StatesPOSITION SUMMARY: The Liaison Engineer supports the Passenger To Freighter conversions of Boeing 777 aircraft in coordinating issue resolution with in-house and partner engineering, answering technicians' questions, preparing documentation in support of repairs, researching and documenting issues occurring in the hangar, and supporting Continuous Improvement projects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates primarily in indoor settings, including office and warehouse/airplane hangar environments which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and safety gear. Must be able to move about inside the hangar, inside aircraft undergoing modifications, and outside on the ramp.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Some movement is required for this role, including seeking out technicians requesting help wherever their workspace is. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with the in-house and partner engineering team to resolve issues with drawings, needed repairs, improve task card instructions, and other issues as required.
- Research and document proposed repairs using the aircraft Structural Repair Manual, aircraft modification drawings and reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Assist technicians by reviewing task cards, manuals, and drawings in the hangar to help ensure correct compliance with the work instructions.
- Release documents into the Aspire configuration management system and ensure critical information is delivered to technicians in a timely manner.
- Recommend and update policies and procedures to improve performance.
- Partner with Scheduling, Planning, Continuous Improvement, and Finance as appropriate
- May require support of night and weekend aircraft work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of five (5) years of liaison or repair of aircraft structures engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft structural configuration, structural load path, design of repairs, standard repairs, repair methods, repair materials, sheet metal, machining, and composites.
- Basic CAD skills, SolidWorks experience preferred.
- An ability to work multiple projects and multi-task.
- An advanced understanding of aircraft repair procedures (FAA AC 43.13).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or other relevant engineering field preferred, but not required.
- An advanced understanding of FAA rules and regulations related to aircraft modifications and Supplemental Type Certificates (STC).
- Experience with structural repairs of Boeing 777 aircraft.
- Experience with Passenger to Freighter conversions, or other heavy structures modification to aircraft.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement efforts.
SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:

- Strong computer skills including CAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

- Must be able to read, write and speak Standard English for routine business correspondence and for producing work products.
- Must be able to adhere to all established safety policies, processes and procedures.
