
Manufacturing Engineer
At Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Root Cause and Improvement Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. As a member of the CAB (Corrective Action Boards) team, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and addressing the underlying causes of mechanical failures and implementing effective solutions to enhance system performance.

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears, as well as the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F- 35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of identified issues.
- Optimize existing systems to improve performance and reliability.
- Ensure high standards of operation through regular monitoring and quality control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and review mechanical specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precise and accurate mechanical designs.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting RCA and implementing improvement strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of quality control and performance optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in developing and interpreting mechanical specifications.
- Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with advanced RCA tools and methodologies is an advantage.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in aerospace manufacturing engineering will be appreciated.
