As a part of the Non-Air Travel Partnerships group, the Product Owner, Non-Air Travel Products will collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure our technology delivers on the overall experience, design, and product vision for Non-Air Travel loyalty products. This will include working with a variety of other branches within Air Canada, such as Currency Management, IT, Digital, Tax, Legal, Marketing, Call Centre and others, to extract and translate their business needs and objectives into actionable requirements for our technology vendors.
This position will be based in Montreal or Toronto and reports to the Manager, Travel Platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert and “go to” person for Air Canada’s Non-Air Travel Loyalty platform.
- Lead the optimization of Non-Air Travel products to maximize customer interaction and conversion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors to ensure requirements are properly executed, proper change and issue management processes are followed, and leadership is regularly updated.
- Collaborate with external vendors to ensure their product roadmap incorporates Air Canada’s needs and specifications.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are well-refined and aligned with the strategic roadmap.
- Oversee the user acceptance criteria and testing for Non-Air Travel loyalty platform releases and deliveries.
- Collaborate with the UX/UI design team to create mockups, prototypes, and user stories that effectively communicate design concepts and requirements.
- Collaborate with internal Air Canada stakeholders, such as Brand, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Call Centre, Fraud, IT, and Currency Management, to ensure that their needs and objectives are represented as it relates to the Non-Air Travel loyalty and travel technologies.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers in cross-functional teams, such as eCommerce, Digital and Currency Management teams, to align respective product backlogs, ensure successful technical implementation and account for dependencies.
- Lead initiatives for new ways of working together with internal Air Canada stakeholders using new processes and tools.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for innovation. Recommend and implement enhancements to deliver a world class experience in Air Canada’s loyalty program.
- Stay attuned to customer sentiment via feedback forms, call listening, surveys, and member usability testing to understand member pain points and anticipate their needs.
- Coordinate campaigns with Marketing and support larger over-arching campaigns.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends for Non-Air Travel Products.
- Support leadership on Program and Roadmap planning.
- Support leadership with financial budget and outlook exercises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of business analysis or product management experience
- Proven ability to work in both Agile and waterfall projects
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, communicate succinctly, gain consensus and handle complex deliverables
- Strong relationship management skills
- Proactive and self-directs work; experience handling multiple time-critical and commercially sensitive projects
- Ability to link strategic business needs and technical requirements, using a creative and innovative mindset
- Ability to provide clear and effective communication both in technical and business terms
- Experience or strong knowledge of the travel industry strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Air Canada or airline industry strongly preferred
- Loyalty experience a plus, but not required
