This position requires strong operational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate internal stakeholders with external suppliers. The Project Purchasing Manager (Buyer) focuses on regular purchases, which are supported by other Procurement team members in crucial purchases, key suppliers, and operational work methods. Additionally, he will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand project requirements, technical specifications, production schedules, and inventory management needs throughout the manufacturing process.

Tasks

Manage the procurement process for specific projects, from identifying required materials to final delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.

  • Utilize the ERP system to create and manage supplier data and purchase orders, track order status, and monitor supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services and manage any issues related to delays, quality defects, or discrepancies.
  • Oversee the invoicing process, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment to suppliers following agreed-upon terms.
  • Manage claims and defects by working closely with suppliers to resolve issues promptly and minimize impact on project timelines.
  • Coordinate transportation logistics, including arranging shipping and managing customs clearance procedures as needed.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on project procurement status, highlighting any risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to understand project requirements, technical specifications, production schedules, and inventory management needs throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Engage in cross-functional meetings to coordinate procurement activities, address supply chain challenges, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure timely material availability by proactively communicating with engineering and manufacturing teams to anticipate material needs and optimize inventory management practices.
  • Organize and manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and R&D teams to seamlessly provide and support production processes, ensuring alignment of procurement activities with production requirements and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or similar.
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing management roles, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems for order management and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify and address procurement-related issues.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs clearance procedures, and Incoterms preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with LEAN production principles and their application in optimizing inventory management and production processes.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and experience implementing process enhancements to drive efficiency and reduce waste in procurement, supply chain, and inventory management operations.
