The Repair Shops Technician is involved in the overhaul, repair, modification, inspection, testing and certification of aviation components of the mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical and pneumatic aircraft systems.

The Repair Shops Technician is involved in the overhaul, repair, modification, inspection, testing and certification of aviation components of the mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical and pneumatic aircraft systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrated Technical Skills
- Dismantle, clean, inspect and reassemble aircraft components, landing gear and subassemblies of B737 Classic, NG, Herc and Twin Otter aircraft.
- Documentation creation and completion of maintenance information (Job cards, maintenance requests, parts requests, airworthiness release documents, etc.).
- Inspection tasks as required complying with the appropriate Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
- Ensure all duties in shop are carried out in accordance with applicable technical specifications, type specific manuals and KFL policy and procedure manuals.
- Other duties as assigned by Component Overhaul Shift Lead.

REQUIREMENTS
- Trade School or equivalent mechanical experience
- Experience with basic shop maintenance
- Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS 571) would be an asset
- Ability to accurately use precision measuring tools
- Understand safe operating procedures and utilize proper protective equipment when working with potentially hazardous materials
- Strong oral and written understanding of the English language
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Willing to take initiative with work, process development, looking for work, learning / cross training etc.
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Ability to research information
- Must be physically fit and comfortable standing for long periods of time
LAUNCH YOUR CAREER
- Hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
- KF will pay for any fees directly associated with training and obtaining of the required certification
- The position is an opportunity to start a career in the aviation industry, without any formal education required. The role is subject to a 3-year on-the-job training program allowing you to work towards becoming a Certified Repair Shop Technician, recognized by the Canadian Council of Aviation and Aerospace (CCAA), which is a Pay Band 6 position $26.72 - $33.40
