Job Description

The Rheem Aviation Senior Captain reports to the Chief Pilot and the Senior Director of Aviation. The role ensures the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights as per the FARs and ISBAO Standards and will actively participate in the Safety Management System.

This position will serve Rheem's Enterprise Division and be located at Peachtree Dekalb Airport Atlanta, Georgia (Hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy, any discrepancies are properly accounted for, and all required documentation is onboard the aircraft
  • Checks weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determines fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements
  • Determines the aircraft weight and balance
  • Ensures databases are current, iPads are updated and adequately charged for the assigned flight, and all flight planning requirements have been met
  • Ensures that aircraft crewmembers have valid Pilot Certificates, Medical Certificates, passports and visas, as required
  • Completes an aircraft preflight inspection before each departure and the Passenger Safety Briefing is provided to the passengers
  • Operates the aircraft per the Rheem Aviation Flight Department SOP and checklists, and within aircraft limitations
  • Continually monitors the amount of usable fuel to ensure a safe landing with appropriate fuel reserves and communicates with ATC during abnormal situations
  • Ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws
  • Records flight times and aircraft defects and completes all postflight duties, including notifying the Company of deviations to any planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location
  • Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Director, Aviation/Chief Pilot
  • Reports any act of unlawful interference to the FAA or State (Mandatory Occurrence Report), as appropriate, and to the designated local authority
  • Reports any hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered that are likely to affect the safety of other aircraft to the appropriate ATC facility
  • In the event of an accident/incident, preserves flight and cockpit voice recorder data
  • Participates in revisions for Rheem Manufacturing Flight Operations Manual
  • Notifies the appropriate authority, by the quickest available means, of any accident involving the aircraft
  • Participates in weekly ops meetings and audit training vendors
  • Manages Airplane checklists with Pilot body and Checklist vendor ensuring compliance with all aspects of our Rheem Aviation FOM
  • Manages and Audit Rheem Aviation Personnel training files
  • Maintains compliance of our Rheem Aviation Training program by attending events and courses ensuring we are constantly informed of opportunities to improve and enhance our personnel skill set.
  • Assists SMS manager when needed for incident investigations
  • Produces an annual budget for Rheem Aviation Training program
  • Mentors and evaluates Line Pilots skill attitude and abilities
  • Flies the line as a scheduled crew member
  • Ensures that the flight will not be commenced if a crewmember is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance
  • Ensures that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable airport when a crewmember's capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 7 years of prior relevant flying experience and 4000-5000 hours of flying experience as a Line Pilot.
  • Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Type rated in the Falcon 8X or Falcon 2000 LXS.
  • Is able to act as Pilot-in-Command on either type.
  • Possesses a First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Experience working within a Part 135 or Part 91 Aviation department.
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, business teams) and external subject matter experts
  • Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and administrative skills
  • Demonstrates the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Displays the highest degree of integrity and strict confidentiality
  • Great presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualification:
  • NBAA Certified Aviation Manager
  • Bachelor's degree
