In late 2024 we will start delivering a Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (SAR) service, which will operate 24/7/365 out of Shannon Airport, Ireland, on behalf of the Irish Coast Guard.
We are looking for Captains to join our growing team to help us deliver this new and exciting contract at Shannon. The flying will be varied and challenging, this is not your average A to B aviation job. Your duties will include the delivery of specialist surveillance tasks on behalf of the Irish Coast Guard. This exciting and rewarding role will allow the right individual to progress within 2Excel.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may be suitable to hold nominated postholder positions (such as Director of Flight Operations, Crew Training, Safety and Compliance) alongside their flying role, for additional reward.
Captains will be flying the King Air 200 with a First Officer multi-pilot, day and night shifts. Each crew will also have a Sensor Operator on board, who manages the sensors and mission equipment.

Please note, due to the training requirements for these roles, start dates for successful applicants may be staggered throughout 2024. Successful applicants may be required to undertake training and work from locations other than Shannon during the startup phase.
In return, we can offer a stable roster using four on and four off shifts, which will include nights, with a competitive base salary and shift allowance. In addition, we will provide generous holiday allowance, private health care and a company pension.

* Successful applicants who do not already have a current King Air 200 type rating will need to make themselves available for initial training. All costs related to training (est €20,000) will be subject to a bond for a 2 year period, repayable in the event you leave our employment. The value of the bond will decrease by 25% every 6 months during that 2 year period.

- Class 1 medical
- EASA CPL (or ATPL) with IR
- 1500 + total flying hours (Including 750 PIC, 100 IR and 100 Night)
- At least 100 hours on King Air Series aircraft (or equivalent, at the discretion of the Director of Flight Operations)
It is also highly desirable that the chosen candidate has the following experience:
- Relevant experience in a similar setting (military, police, coastguard)
- Proven experience in taking a lead pilot/managerial role in a forward operating base
- A current King Air 200 type rating is highly desirable, but not essential as training will be provided*
