Description

The Specialist, Airport Operations Training is responsible for the professional development of Airport Operations Crew Members and leadership through the creation and execution of classroom and On the Job training. To research new training techniques and suggest enhancements to existing training programs. Will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Airport operational responsibilities and will audit to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Outcomes and Responsibilities
  • Provides initial, recurrent, and ongoing training to employees and managers including new hire orientation, customer service training, ramp training, and management concepts training.
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training and maintains accurate training records and files for all Airport Operations Crewmembers.
  • Performs regulatory and operational compliance audits, ensuring conformity with all Avelo Airlines, FAA, TSA, DOD, DOT and other governmental agency regulations.
  • Perform inspections of contractor activities such as GSE repairs, deicing services, and fueling services.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Conducts station openings including training, audits, and station support.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting.
  • Conduct in-person, video, and audio meetings as necessary for procedure updates, problem solving, and reporting.
  • Balancing and sequencing multiple objectives.
  • Working under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Up to 75% travel to airport locations for training and oversight purposes.
  • Valid US driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug test and 10-year Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).

Education/Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of airline Airport Operations experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year training experience, preferably in the airline industry.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience, preferably in the airline industry
