Description

The role of the Systems Engineer Team Leader (Mechanical) is to provide Technical Services support to the AirTanker operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing Airworthiness Directive, Service Bulleting and Modification embodiment
  • Develop procedures for the integration of approved modifications into the Voyager fleet
  • Systems Reliability (day to day, through analysis of defect reports, repetitive defects, trend monitoring and also preparing reports for company Reliability Meetings in conjunction with the MPRE
  • Monitor aircraft systems, flight characteristics and aircraft performance through the reliability programme
  • Process technical queries and disseminate information through technical instructions
  • Managing aircraft damage reports
  • Investigate design faults arising throughout the life cycle
  • Investigate failed aircraft components
  • Assess aircraft manufacturer and OEMs information on aircraft structure and mechanical systems and recommend and co-ordinate implementation when approved
  • Liaison with the manufacturer and OEMs to obtain approved data for repairs/rectification
  • Analysis of defects and reliability data within established standards to ensure suitable and adequate changes are made to the programme in conjunction with MPRE

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential;

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a Technical Services role, preferably involving the management of the civil type aircraft
  • Demonstrable ability to work within a multi skilled team
  • Demonstrable ability to manage and influence relationships with sub-contract providers and regulatory bodies
  • Demonstrable experience in working with complex IT systems for the purposes of aircraft technical management

Desirable;

  • UK.CAA Licence B1 or a recognised post graduate technical qualification
  • A330 Type rating or UK.CAA Licence
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and managing technical procedures manuals and company expositions
