The Engineering department within CAMO is responsible for the implementation of all applicable maintenance and authority requirements, monitoring of the fleet reliability, and maintenance budget of the aircraft and engine types operated by SAS. The Engineering department employs 50 persons working closely with the rest of Technical Operations, Flight Operations, Network Planning, Fleet Management, Finance, Aviation Authorities, Suppliers, etc.
The Engineering department within the CAMO is looking for an experienced and motivated Tech Ops Engineer to join a dynamic organization and a highly reputable flag carrier. The right candidate will have the skills and personality to fit within team of seven, multi skilled team that is responsible for CAMO operational Engineering support mainly to Maintenance organizations (P-145), but also act for the best interest of Aircraft operations. In addition, Tech Ops Engineering continuously contributes to improve SAS products and processes with cost saving initiatives to help our service in a complex and demanding environment.
As part of Tech Ops Engineering team, you will work on a variety of aircraft types such as A320/A330/A350, B737NG and EMB190/195. You will work close with all teams in SAS CAMO as well with SAS Part-145 department.
Challenges you will work on
Position involves providing around-the-clock CAMO engineering support to the Maintenance Production (P-145) team, ensuring seamless coordination with aircraft manufacturers and Part 21 organizations when necessary. As the primary coordinator for complex AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations occurring outside of SAS staffed bases, you will be responsible for planning and executing recovery efforts in collaboration with the maintenance control and P145. Your duties include monitoring aircraft systems and maintaining control over the airworthiness of the SAS fleet to guarantee continued safe operations. This position also requires handling regulatory documentation to ensure compliance, fostering close communication across various departments within and outside SAS CAMO, and developing and optimizing procedures related to Tech Ops Engineering and CAMO engineering operations. Additionally, you will manage various operational tasks, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the SAS fleet.
As Tech Ops Engineer you will:
• Function as Operational CAMO engineering support to Maintenance Production (P-145) 24/7 including direct contact with aircraft TC/OEM holder and other Part 21 organizations when applicable.
• Single point of contact/responsible coordinator for complex AOG situations
• Plan and act related to aircraft AOG recovery
• Monitor aircraft systems through various tools in Tech Ops Engineering disposal.
• Monitor predictive, preventive and repetitive trends and faults
• Monitor and control the airworthiness of SAS aircraft fleet.
• Handling of various mandatory documents according to regulatory requirements.
• Close communication between different departments inside and outside SAS CAMO.
• Develop and optimize procedures related to Tech Ops Engineering function and CAMO engineering department in general.
• Secure delivery of all engineering tasks related to continuing airworthiness as defined in CAME within own engineering area of functional responsibility.
• Handling and take action of various operational tasks related to SAS fleet and secure continued safe and reliable operation.
To be successful in this role, we believe you should have:
• Aircraft Engineering degree or Aircraft Technician/engineering degree (EASA Part-66 AML on relevant aircraft types).
• Knowledge in EASA Part-M & Part-145 regulations
• Knowledge of EASA Part 21 desirable
• Engineering knowledge of aircraft systems and structures of aircraft types A320/A330/A350, B737NG and EMB190/195
• Sharp judgment skills in a fast changing, stressful and dynamic environment.
• Practical experience of working with AMOS maintenance management system.
• Skywise experience desirable.
• Strong skills in IT systems and tools.
• Experience in TC/OEM holder communication, processes, and requirements
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English - verbally and written
• Ability to learn new skills
