The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
This is a position is on a 80/40 rotation schedule. Complete fixed wing aircraft DHC-8 qualification training then travel to assigned location. Provide fixed wing operational support for the Department of State INL/A program in support of the US Embassy.

Role Description:
This is a position is on a 80/40 rotation schedule. Complete fixed wing aircraft DHC-8 qualification training then travel to assigned location. Provide fixed wing operational support for the Department of State INL/A program in support of the US Embassy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare or supervise preparation of flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, airport facilities and navigation aids.
- Supervise or accomplish the aircraft preflight inspection and preparation.
- MP crewmember performs operational checks, routine maintenance, and maintenance test flights to ensure the airworthiness of the fleet.
- Ensure proper loading, distributing, and security of cargo and passengers.
- Determine aircraft weight and balance is within prescribed limits.
- Retain final responsibility for the logging of aircraft flight time and the filing and closing of flight plans and preparation of flight and duty time records.
- Conduct the briefing of all passengers prior to each take-off or assigns duty to direct reports but retains responsibility.
- Delegate functions to other direct reports but retains overall responsibility.
- OCONUS position that requires some travel to CONUS required.
- Position requires a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Performs other aviation duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications :
- High school diploma, GED or Host Nation equivalent.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificate Airplane or Host Nation equivalent.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Successful completion of FAA Type Rating in the selected type required before assignment.
- 50 hours pilot in command time.
- 1,500 total fixed wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine multi-engine time.
- Minimum 250 hours multi-engine pilot-in-command time.
- MP applicants require 50 hours of FW maintenance pilot time or prior designation as a military Functional Check Pilot/ Maintenance Test Pilot time.
- Strong English speaking and written communication skill. Preferred:
- Prior military pilot and/or pilot support on the DoS INL/A program.
- Qualification in the applicable aircraft DHC-8 or equivalent.
Preferred:
- FAA ATP rating - FAA Type rating
- FAA CFI/CFII/MEI
OCONUS:
- Ability to pass physical screening
- Passport with 18 months remaining
- LATAM positions require Level 2 Spanish
- Willing to relocate.
