(WASCO) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Winnipeg Airports Authority that provides quality airport operations, management, facility maintenance and technical services to Canadian Airports. An individual in this role will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: snow removal, repairing and maintaining signage, manholes and storm sewer structures, asphalt patching, and repairing security fencing throughout the Airport Complex. The Airport Maintenance Worker will also respond to Airport emergencies and provide support services for first responders and emergency response teams. This position is part of a 24/7/365 day operation which will include: weekends, holidays and overtime. What you will do<ul><li>Operates and services a variety of power and maintenance equipment, including, but not limited to: batwing, trimming and finishing mowers; dump trucks with under-blades, snow removal equipment and jack-hammers, etc.</li><li>Performs general maintenance and construction work, including but not limited to: asphalt paving on runways and other paved areas; snow removal and road sweeping on restricted and public access areas.</li><li>Erects and maintains signs on the public access roadways.</li><li>Responds to on-airport emergencies and assists the Public Safety and other Airport Divisions as needed.</li><li>Collects and removes trash and debris found throughout the Airport Complex.</li><li>Repairs damaged security fencing in accordance with Airport Security Guidelines.</li><li>Cuts grass and remove weeds; removes rubber build-up on runways; puts away stock and supplies.</li><li>Assists Facilities, Trades Maintenance, Fleet Services and Inventory Management Unit as needed.</li><li>Maintains fuel farm under direction of the Certified Fuel Farm Operator, when assigned to Willow Run.</li><li>Moves furniture, office equipment, supplies and materials throughout the complex for Airport Authority employees</li><li>Clears and removes snow using shovels and walk behind snow blowers and other mechanical equipment at Airport Authority locations as needed</li><li>Performs minor repairs throughout Airport Authority facilities such as re-lamping light fixtures, assembling furniture and other various repairs</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul> Qualifications <ul><li>High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency</li><li>Have Basic Computer Skills</li><li>Candidates hired with a Commercial Driver License (CDL-A) must have or obtain an "N" endorsement within 120 days of hire.</li></ul> Supervisory Responsibilities None - Individual Contributor The WCAA is committed to the full inclusionof all qualified individuals.
